Google Site Maps is a new Beta program, just developed by Google, to help make the search engine indexing process more efficient and effective. It accomplishes this by allowing the websites to communicate directly with Google to keep them informed of all their web pages, and also when changes are made to those web pages.

This increases traffic, which increases leads, which increases your profits.

3. Google (the most used search engine) will have a more complete directory on your website and be able to direct traffic your way when relevant searches are made.

Will this make my site rank better?

This most likely will not directly affect the ranking of an established website. It could however, indirectly improve your website ranking, as well as expand the amount of search terms you will come up for (with the expanded indexed content).
